Dr. Steven Hiebert

Intuitive Chiropractor - Healer

About My Practice

About Me:

My name is Steven Hiebert.  I'm an intuitive chiropractor and healer.  This work is my calling and I'm fed by it - I love it!  I went to Northwestern College of Chiropractic and graduated in May of 1990.  During my time in chiropractic college, I pursued additional training in nutrition and the use of manual muscle strength testing (AK/CK/HK) as a diagnostic and biofeedback tool.  The use of muscle strength testing (kinesiology) is part of the foundation of my practice and always has been.

My great-grandfather was a bonesetter/healer and worked in the countryside of southwestern Minnesota.  My father was a chiropractor having graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropactic the year I was born.  Healing is in my family line and I have spent my entire life with chiropractic, alternative and complimentary medicine as my health care and lifestyle model.

My first exposure to the wonders of manual muscle strength testing was through my father in the late 1970's.  It was that experience that solidified my desire to follow this path and help others.

I spent my final trimester of chiropractic college working and learning in the office of Dr. Terry Franks.  I stayed on in that practice for two additional years beyond graduation working, learning and receiving mentorship in the alternative and complimentary healing arts.

In 1992 I, along with two friends and business partners, started a multidisciplinary clinic called Options for Healing, in Edina, Minnesota.

After ten years of business partnership,  I learned it was time to move on to the next phase of my professional life.  I left the multi-provider practice to work alone.  I have been working in my current office since the spring of 2005.

I have been blessed with a gift for healing and I have been called to be a healer.  I know deeply and profoundly this healing work is what I am here to do.  I truly love my work and find I am constantly moved and amazed by the healing miracles I am allowed to participate in and be witness to.

Your Session:

Your scheduled appointment time is yours and yours alone.  When you come in for a session, you will spend your time entirely one on one with me.  There will be no-one else who you need to talk to or share your symptoms and personal concerns with.  Everything we discuss is entirely confidential.

My healing room is set up with comfortable chairs and soft lighting.  You will find candles burning and soft music playing.  It is comfortable and relaxing.  I keep an electric heating blanket on my chiropractic table between sessions so it is warm when you lay down on it.

I work with you in whatever clothing you wear to your session.  I won't ask you to change into a drafty, embarrasing gown or undress in any way.

Your first session with me will last between 90 and 120 minutes.  We will chat about your symptoms and concerns and review the extensive forms and history I will ask you to fill out for me.  I want to know as much about you and why you are here as I can.  The more I know about you, the better I am able to help you.

During our first meeting, we will be getting to know one another and laying the foundation upon which we will build our relationship.  The more information you share about yourself, your symptoms and concerns, the better I will get to know you.  And, the better I know you, the better I will be at helping you.  My ability to help you is as dependant upon you and your openess to me as it is upon me and my expertise.  Our therapeutic relationship is just that - a coordinated and co-creative relationship that we define together and in which we are equals.

After our initial time chatting, we will spend the bulk of our time together with you laying on my chiropractic table while I explore and discover how I can best help you.  This is where the manual muscle strength testing (AK) and intuitive awareness come into play.  As I discover and become aware of what it is you want me to do to help you, I will perform those therapies that best facilitate your healing.

The therapies I most often utilize in my work include:
chiropractic adjusting, manual soft tissue massage and trigger points, flower essences and emotional issues, nutritional supplements, food intolerance identification, homeopathy, essential oils and hands-on healing.  Your session could include any or all of these modalities.  It is the muscle strength testing (AK) and intuitive awareness that leads us to what is going to be most beneficial for you during a session.

Before we are finished I will review with you those things I found and what I did.  I will review anything I want you do at home so you are clear about what I am recommending.  You will have time to ask any questions you might have.  Finally, I will let you know what I think about the "big picture" painted by what you have told me in body, mind and spirit and how that all relates back to the symptoms and concerns you came here with.

I am the only person working in my practice.  I have no employees or assistants.  When you come to my office, I will be here to greet you.  I have soft lighting and comfortable chairs like you might find in your own home.  There will be soft music playing and occasionally the pleasant aroma of light incense to please your nose.

I routinely hear my office is peaceful and comfortable.  It's been described as meditative, calm and inviting.  Occasionally, I will even find someone has fallen asleep while waiting for a friend or family member to finish their session.  Sometimes even the people I am working with say they almost nodded off during our session.

It is my intention to create a space in which you will feel comfortable and at-home.  I want you to feel free to relax and enjoy your time here.  A health and healing appointment doesn't need to be sterile, antiseptic and cold.  Indeed, the greater your comfort and relaxation, the deeper and more profound the potential for your healing.
