I am a healer

I am a healer.  I do healings. 

People will sometimes want to know what kind of healings I do.  Do you do Reiki?  Do you do Healing Touch?  What kind of healing do you do? 

It seems that most people who do healings have a particular method they use in being a healer.  Often they choose to study a particular healing modality and become certified in that healing technique. 

The healing has come to me.  I have not actively sought it out.  I haven’t studied any specific healing technique.  I’m not certified in any particular method.  I don’t have any person who is my teacher.  And yet, every person I see is my teacher.  Each experience is my teacher.  Each day is my teacher.  Life is my teacher.  Spirit is my teacher.

The healing doesn’t come from me.  I am a vessel for the healing energy.  I am a portal for love and healing.  I surrender myself and ask to be used for healing.

Before each session I ask God to use me as he will.  I am a clear and open channel, an open conduit for wisdom, awareness, knowing and healing power.  I surrender myself to you in this session that you might guide me to just the right things for this person to take their next steps on the path of their life and express their divine brilliance in this world.

To try and describe the healing is to place limits upon what it can and will be.  Once we focus our attention in one place we will forget to look elsewhere.  Once we think we know what the healing is about we will stop perceiving what it may be.  Our intellect will seek, even demand, understanding and make it seem like wisdom yet it is a trap that will keep us from the true wisdom and understanding of life.  We must let go and allow the soft quiet voice of life to call our names.

I do healings.  I am allowed to see where the energetic disturbances exist in you.  I am allowed to see and know something of why they are there and what to do to change them.  Sometimes I am moved to direct you in certain ways.  Sometimes I am moved to speak to you of certain things.  Sometimes I am moved to touch you in certain ways and in certain places.  I place my hands upon you as an extension of life, an extension of love, an extension of God.  These things move through me and change you.  I am a conduit for change and healing.  I give myself over to this work.

I stand next to you.  I pray.  I breathe deeply and rhythmically.  I wait to be moved.  I breathe out forcefully.  I hum.  I place my hands upon you.  I feel what is there that needs to be felt.  I see what needs to be seen.  I remove what needs to be removed.  I restore what needs to be restored to you.  I ask you to stand in the light and be yourself.  The world needs you. 

I am reminded of a song by Van Morrison:  “No Guru, No Method, No Teacher.  Just you and I in nature in the garden…..”  It’s you and me and the spirit of life.  There is no magic technique.  There is no special methodology.
